“Horsegirls” screened at the Oriental Theatre as part of Milwaukee Film’s Cinematic Sisterhood series. The film’s producer Alix Madigan and actor Jerod Haynes participated in a post-screening Q&A hosted by local filmmaker and actor Khaula Kai Mahmood.

Ashley Cooke, a country music singer/songwriter, stopped in Milwaukee at the Rave Penthouse as part of her “the cities that made me” tour. This mini tour was an acoustic pop-up concert experience meant to celebrate the release of her newest album in an intimate setting with family, friends and fans.

Wisconsin State Fair opening day for its 175th anniversary brought a buzz, and a few moos, to Wisconsin State Fair Park on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The opening day for the Wisconsin State Fair had everyone excited to try the new food selections, experience the rides and see the animals.

Wisconsin Hemp Community Rally to Regulate and Legalize - UWM Post

The “Save Hemp Rally” was hosted by Erin Kelly at Kelly’s Greens Cannabis Boutique and Cafe in Wauwatosa on June 29. The rally brought together community members, hemp business owners and legislators to discuss and raise awareness of the incoming hemp ban, which will affect the hemp business in Wisconsin.

Corpse Flower 'Penelope' Blooms at Mitchell Park Domes - UWM Post

Mitchell Park Domes’ uniquely famous corpse flower named “Penelope” is grabbing people’s attention again as it finally blooms. The bloom started on Friday, June 26 and will only last for a short time.

The corpse flower (Amorphophallus titanum) blooms for just about three days every two to three years. It releases an infamous smell, which gives the flower its name.
